Does one hemisphere go to heaven and the other go to hell?

I have mentioned the neuroscientist Vilayanur S. Ramachandran on and off throughout the life span of this blog. As a reminder, he's well-known for his research with phantom limb syndrome and has recently displayed an interest in transsexuals.

I found a video of him speaking about someone who had his corpus callosum severed - making it so that his right and left hemispheres could no longer communicate. Thing is, one hemisphere was atheist and the other theist. To which Ramachandran asked, "If this person dies, does one hemisphere go to heaven and the other go to hell?"

Interesting!

Photo Documentation: 90 Days

I figured it was about time to do another pained and unflattering photo documentation. This cursed camera my parents gave me for Christmas. Still not enough to satisfy my cute Russian female friend, but getting there. One day. Eventually. Putt putt putt. Leg (hair growth + muscle development) A bit hairier. No difference in muscle tone that I'...

Hysterectomy Scheduled Early August!

As I mentioned in my most recent post, I'm not able to update this as often as I really want to. I absolutely love blogging, but by the time I'm done with my graduate school tasks for the day, I become a collapsed puddle of human, incapable of uttering a single word. But I had to log on this once to share some incredibly exciting news. Earlier yesterday I learned that my insurance (through the marketplace) has preauthorized me FOR A HYSTERECTOMY IN EARLY AUGUST.  For over six years now I've been struggling through years of no insurance coverage as a student and then one trans-exclusive, discriminatory policy after another. Even as a federal employee. Yet finally, at long last, this is actually happening. It doesn't feel real yet, but I'm beyond ecstatic. I'm actually scheduled for surgery!  Whaaaa??? There are a gazillion risks reduced and benefits from having this done, one of which will be lowering my dose of testosterone post surgery, which is ...
