Dad Wears Dress in Solidarity With Dress-Loving Son

Thanks for sharing, Natalie! "A German father said that he sometimes wears skirts to support his son, who also prefers to wear skirts and dresses." The Advocate: Dad Wears Dress in Solidarity With Dress-Loving Son >

Holy $h**, look what I just discovered

Seriously. The Mountain T-Shirt Store: CATS > Here's a sneak peek: It might be wrong just how excited I am about this.

The Bane of Shopping - well, until surgery happened.

Shopping for clothing has never been my top #1 favorite activity of all time in the universe. For as long as I can recall, it’s been an agonizing, everything-fits-funny pain in the schlum. Out of a gazillion + 2 shirts and pants, I’d be lucky to find something that fit right. Either the shirts were too straight or too stretched out or not long enough or - this has been the story for forever and beyond. Until last Saturday. Since I had top surgery last August, I haven’t shopped for new clothes. Er, I lie. I have. For multipacks of Hanes t-shirts and underoo’s. But those don’t count. For months now my dad has been whimpering about having no clothes. And I’ve been wearing the same ol’ white Hanes shirt and shorts combo every single day. Which is great if you’re Pee Wee Herman, Einstein, or Seth Brundle from The Fly, but. Despite the convenience of only having multiple pairs of one outfit, I finally cracked last Saturday and decided to dupe my father into going on a trip to the ...

Pride Weekend 2012!

Guess who got to see Yara Sofia over pride weekend? THIS GUY. For those who live in the tragic drag-less dark, Yara Sofia won the Miss Congeniality award on season three of RuPaul’s Drag Race . She was, by far, my favorite - due to being all super sweet, mega-talented, and overall adorable. Anyway, I blame school - but, I had no idea that she was coming to Salt Lake City until Saturday night. Prior to this knowledge, I had resolved to learn from experience and save up my finite supply of elder energy for the Sunday morning Pride Parade and all.day.long festivities. In years past, pride weekend has always been a blur of gaggle o’ faggle sleep deprivation that I end up paying for all day Monday. That was the plan - until Aaron texted me: “Yara Sofia will be at Metro tonight.” Well, he actually texted “Sofia Yara” - but, close enough. I got the gist. One part of me thought of the exhaustion, the overwhelming crowds of loud, drunken hot messes. But, the other part of me thought,...
Got this new hair did last weekend from Princess Kennedy. So summer post-finals perfect:

Just to show that I really mean it.

But I don't really.

Upcoming Semester ~FIN~

This semester. Seriously. And Statistics. And finals. And my bloody stress eyeball and my consta-compromised immune system. And whining. Which I do a lot of lately. Alas, this semester is almost over. So… close… can’t… wait. Then it starts all over again. But, for a minute there, it’ll be nothing but puppy walking and snow-shielded sunshine and freedom. And getting caught up on Werewolf News . And blogging.

Surgery

is tomorrow !!!!!

Surgery Countdown: 1 Month!

Today marks the beginning of my 1 month countdown to top surgery on August 11th. I need to get one of those little Christmas “advent” calendars with doors in it that I can open every day to retrieve a celebratory getting-closer treat! Less like this: And more like this: … but with deliciously crack-like Coconut Juices within instead of beer. I can’t believe that this surgery, which I’ve wanted for as long as I can remember, is actually, fo’ real real and not fo’ play play, only one month away . I’ve never experienced this kind of anticipation and excitement before and just… the reality of it hasn’t quite sunken in yet. It’s just, so unreal. And riveting. And indescribable. p O p!

30 Days to a Better Man Day 1: Define Your Core Values

So today is Day 1 of this “Be a Better Man in 30 Days” ridonkulous quest Aaron convinced me to join him on. Of course, I couldn’t resist. So here goes the first day of my “journey to becoming a better man!” The task of the day? Define my core values stemming from the question: “What’s truly important to me as a man?” I’m supposed to come up with five of these little suckers after weeding and prioritizing. So now, per The Art of Manliness instruction, I will turn my dopamine-inducing bounce house dancy music off and will spend the next 5 minutes in silence, pondering and jotting with a pen upon pad whatever comes to me. [[[[5 minutes later]]]] Dexter’s Core Values Compassion Empathy Non-Violence Honesty Sex Growth Happiness Fin! Whoa, feeling more manly already… ?

The Art of Manliness

By the way, I loved Harvey Katz (aka “Athens Boys Choir”) at Mestizo Cafe last night. He bounced back and forth between spoken word poetry and songs like Tranny Got Pack and Fagette. Lots o’ gaggle o’ faggle fun, for sure. My friend, Aaron, arrived with a finger puppet he’s named “Pirate Pete” who he has since created a Facebook fan page for to fill with mountains of beyond worthless Pirate Pete adventure photos. Oy. On another beyond worthless Aaron-related note, he has asked me to join him on a ridonkulous “Be a Better Man in 30 Days” excursion, created by this Art of Manliness blog . Wow. Of course - I can’t resist. We start tomorrow.

Queers? Gore? Elvira? SOLD. All About Evil @ the Damn These Heels LGBT Film Fest!

Just saw the Salt Lake City premiere of a dark comedy called All About Evil as part of this weekend’s Damn These Heels LGBQT film festival - and oooooh was I amused. The official synopsis- All About Evil is a wicked black comedy set in the world of a horror movie about a mousy librarian (Lyonne) who inherits her father’s beloved but failing old movie house. In order to save the family business she discovers her inner serial killer – and a legion of rabid gore fans – when she starts turning out a series of grisly shorts. What her fans don’t realize yet is that the murders in the movies are all too real! Upon walking in to the theatre my chums and I were greeted by two “evil twins” in drag donning sexy red bellhop costumes. They were completely in-character with scowls across their faces, silent and solemn, as they handed out little Dixie cups (this made sense after watching the film). Then, the director, Joshua Grannell, arrived on stage as Peaches Christ - his epic drag queen al...
